Out of Hours Care

If you require urgent medical attention between the hours of 6.30 p.m. until 8 am every day and on Bank Holidays and weekends, the GP Out of Hours Service provides this care.  This is via the NHS 111 Wales service.

When it's urgent, but NOT life threatening, urgent Medical advice can be accessed outside normal surgery hours by calling the 111, or by visiting their website:  https://111.wales.nhs.uk/

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you’re Deaf and want to use the phone service, you can use the NHS 111 British Sign Language service available:

You answer questions about your symptoms on the website, or by speaking to a fully trained adviser on the phone.  Depending on the situation you will:

  • find out what local service can help you
  • be connected to a nurse, emergency dentist, pharmacist or GP
  • be given an arrival time if you need to go to A&E – this might mean you spend less time in A&E
  • be told how to get any medicine you need
  • get self-care advice
  • get a face-to-face appointment if you need one

If necessary, you will be asked to attend the one of the Out of Hours centres for an examination or assessment.

If you have a medical problem that cannot wait until the surgery routinely opens, OR In life threatening Emergencies such as severe bleeding , collapse, unconsciousness and severe chest pains TELEPHONE 999 IMMEDIATELY
